Ben Lee on Rove

Who said that Tv advertising doesn't work?

I was just watching ROVE interview Ben Lee while in New York. Ben Lee related a funny story about the cops cancelling their permit to shoot a video clip after only one take. Apparently it was something about naked skate boarders as part of the video.

He mentioned that some one had leaked the video to youtube and I did what every geek watching Tv with a laptop on their knees did - browsed straight to youtube to find it.

When I got there it had been viewed 38 times and had one comment. By the time I had watched the video and put a comment on it had been viewed 222 times and I was comment 98. A few moments later and it was over 200 comments and is still climbing.

Got to love the net for immediate action and reaction (and naked people on youtube). Anyhow, looking forward to the new album.

Binalong video

Editing video is one of those things that I enjoy, but never seem to find the time to do. Even with fast computers it is never fast enough.

There are probably some people out there shaking their heads and saying "I remember when..." and all I can say is that yes, I have never edited real film but I have had time in an edit suite on Umatic tape and later with Betacam, and I do know how good we have it with non-linear editing these days having even played with the very first generation of the Media 100 suite back in the day.....But I am all for instant gratification and computers are still not fast enough.

Anyhow, that is my rant on technology. I threw this together last night from some random shots taken during Yosh's first training flight. It is a little bit special because Mt. Bobra is the highest point in the area around Binalong and it is fun scooting along the side of it.

When graphic artists get bored.

I just love these images. Some of them are very clever and are the very reason I love working with Photoshop.

The cow and the panda bears are probably my favorites.

Rubber band games

Have been a bit slack on the old blog lately. Lots going on though.

We just had the State Election, billed as the race between Dumb and Dumber. Dumb retained power so expect more public transport problems and decaying public infrastructure. Can't say the alternative looked much better but such is politics.

Took a trip down to Benalla a few weeks ago to see where the National Championships are going to be in July. Had two great flights of about 2 hours each which is great for this time of year. Met one grumpy farmer with locked gates and found more locked gates again on the second flight. It was all bit of a shock as I have not had any of those challenges for some time. Fingers crossed things area bit smoother during the Nationals...It will be a long week with carry outs after every flight.

One of my best mates Pete has become a dad! Well done to Pete and Cath.

I have also started flying a 260 over western Sydney on weekends for a bit of extra fun. Work is also flat out which is always a good thing, and I have nearly reached the end of writing a whole new Flight Manual as well as a Maintenance manual update.

Way too much staring at computer screens with the manual writing which makes finding the following all the sadder.

So, if a the average rubber band diameter is 38mm and has a range of about 5.5m, how far will a 10m rubber band go? Simple, ask some crazy Japanese tv show....
